Customize Display View
« on: May 24, 2020, 12:28:43 pm »

I am trying to customize what's displayed on the top panel when I choose "Playing Now". Right now it shows the Album Art of what's playing and I can select "Lyrics" which will display what's in the Lyrics field. That's great, however, I'd like to also display the [Album], [Name] and [Artist] fields in large font. Is that possible?
many thanks,
Hans

If you're talking about the area above the track listing you can right click in the area, select Track Info and select the different ones listed.

If you want to see some more that may not be listed, the following link is a good one: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,116394.0/topicseen.html

Also if you want to personalize or adjust one a bit you can use this link to learn how to modify or make your own: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,116394.0/topicseen.html

I highly suggest if you choose to edit to change the name when you save it.

Hmm...  Your MC display shows the very top part with the play bar right?  Which shows playing information like Album and Artist?  Why not customize that instead?  Modifying skins is kind of a big step.

You can do a LOT of customization to the top play bar area.  A LOT.  Here's something I posted about that a while back:

Thanks Brian!
That is probably the better way for me. I am not a coder.
cheers,

Something to consider:  Your skin selection determines a lot of things about display.  This includes the font size of the text at the top.  The skin I've chosen uses the largest font for the top display that I have personally seen.  That skin is Black and Blue Too HC (SB).

https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=100570.0

Original Black and Blue Too is here, along with very clear instructions on how to make the top font EVEN BIGGER if you want:

https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=98476.0

Of course you don't have to change skins, or edit your skin at all if the top display is big enough for you.  I'm just mentioning this because it's one of the only ways to reliably change the font size at the top.  MC's built in font facility makes things look very strange when you start changing the font size.  At least it does on my systems with my layout.

Good luck.

Brian.

Thank you Brian!
Being a Mac user, how do I deal with the .mjp file? Is there a way to extract it on a Mac?
many thanks,
Hans
