ASIO bit jumpy for the last few builds
« on: April 24, 2003, 04:26:36 am »

Dont know when it started but its been there for the last several builds.

ASIO output through my M-Audio card has a sort of pop/gurgle sound through the music playback.

Direct Sound etc are all fine.

Increasing the latency of the M-Audio driver or reducing the buffering within MC has no effect.

Any ideas as to what it could be.

Hi;

* Are you using kXProject ASIO drivers?  If so, you sound card MUST be completely compatible with Creative SoundBlaster Live or Audigy as the KxProject drivers only work with Creative's line of cards.

* Is your sound card compatible with the list below?

* The kX Audio Driver is an independent WDM (Windows Driver Model) driver for all EMU10K1 and EMU10K2-based soundcards manufactured by Creative Technology Ltd. and/or E-mu Systems Inc., including the SoundBlaster Live! series, the E-mu Audio Production Studio (APS) card, and the Audigy series of cards.

* Check out the kXProject driver site at http://kxproject.spb.ru/index.php?skip=1

* Do you have the DSP Studio/Output Format checked?

* Have you set DSP Studio/Output Format/Sample Rate to 48,000 Hz?

I went through Hell getting ASIO working on my Audigy but it was well worth the effort.  If your sound card meets the above conditions then you too can enjoy the better sound that ASIO provides.

If you are using M-Audio,
-try to change in DSP the output format like Doc said,
-turn off and on the JRSS ( i have problems with this)
-Update your soundboard driver
