I am a longtime reader, occassional poster to this forum.

Today, when for the first time in several months I needed to post, I was told my username did not exist.

When I tried to register a new one, the system refused because my email address was already in use by a registered member.  It told me to ask for my password at the login screen.

But at the login screen, the only way to get my password was to tell it my username!!  Which, apparently, no longer exists.

I apologise greatly that my studies this semester have kept me too busy to post, but I did not realize this was an offense that would get me banned from the board.

Please explain to me what happened and how I can get my username (Agonostis) back.

I don't know.  The username in lowercase exists, but goes to a different university.

Try another name?

My father works at the University of Michigan, I go to Columbia.  IP confusion?

Anyway, apparently when I signed up for interact, I decided my login name should be lowercase.  Thanks for the heads-up.

Edit:  Over there on the left, the name is capitalized.  Confusing much?
