OS Alphabet Soup (Verge Article)
« on: June 23, 2020, 07:44:59 am »

This article, from The Verge, talks about Apple's evolution toward ARM:

MacOS/OSK will support iPad iOS apps.

Google's ChromeOS has done this for about a year now.  ChromeOS lets you install apps from the Android Play Store, so apps like  JRemote2 can be used on a laptop.  I use a Samsung Galaxy Chromebook as my main machine and used a Pixelbook before that.  ChromeOS also supports Linux so I can install JRiver Media Center.  It sounds a little confusing, but it works.  It also continues to improve.

Is this the future?  Any software runs on any hardware?

The article is well worth reading.
