It keeps saying trial has expired.
I bought it, i registered it.  I created a portable version.

All i want is the portable version.
Every now and then it wants to update and i just click cancel and then i can run it again.

But this last time it says trial expired and asks for my code.  I paste in my code, it says it restores it, but still won't let it run.  I keep repeating this effort, pasting my code and it says it restores it again but still goes back to screen saying it is expired.

HOw can i get my portable version to run? 
I don't want to have to reinstall the full version again.
I also don't want it to keep getting updates.

PLEASE HELP???!!

You made 3 posts in 2 hours. You need to be patient and someone from JRiver will eventually help you. 48h is not unreasonable for support, and it's now nighttime in US.

i get this splash screen...when i click restore license, it says restored succesfully but then just returns to same splash screen

Usually when that happens, something is wrong with the system which prevents the license from working.

Is the system time on your Windows OS wrong? If so, that could cause issues like this. Also potentially the Use random hardware addresses feature for Wi-Fi in Windows 10 *could* cause issues like this was well.

No my system time is not wrong, but interesting that you ask because i did notice it was wrong a few days ago and reset it.

I have no idea what "use random hardware addresses feature is", but i am not using wi-fi for this computer.

All i need is the registration code right?  I don't need an "install key"?

What do i need to do to fix this?

also is there a way to tell it not to look for updates...it seems like everytime i start it, it tries to download an update, so i click cancel and restart it.

i tried pasting my registration code on that "license restore page" and
it says it installed it but then it says it expires in 14 days?
And it still doesn't work for either of my portable versions...it STILL says expired?!

I also see something about only getting 10 restores...i must have tried it 7 or 8 times now already??

I am scared to keep trying to get it to work, being afraid that i will exceed my 10 attempts?

You can't register a portable version with the key. You need to install the normal version, register it properly, and then run the installer again to make a new portable version.

To stop MC from Updating Itself you need to go to Help >> Update Channels and select the last entry in the list "Disable Automatic Update (not recommended)"

I am confused....my portable version was working but now it says expired....what caused this and if i go through the long tedious process of installing it twice again, what is to say i won't have to go through this effort again?

And i MADE a lot of changes to my library...i really don't want to have to reinstall this thing twice and redo my library because it now says expired???  Also i have no idea how many hours i put into updating my library...there has to be a FIX for this??

I also haven't kept track of all the configuration changes i made.  THe main reason i wanted a portable version was so i could just copy the folder and know that i have all my changes.   I think i even uninstalled the full version once i had the portable version working.  I thought the whole purpose of the portable version was so you could copy it or move it and have the exact configuration you wanted. 

Please someone that knows how to fix this...there has to be a fix without having to reinstall it twice and lose my library and all my configuration changes, that i don't even remember the changes i made....

I have bought jriver 3 times...if this is not possible, i am going to look at some other software, i have been frustrated too many times with this software where I thought I finally had it down and was content, but this blowing up on me is a catastrophe i won't overlook....all because i changed my system time?? REALLY ??!!

Also, i thought one of the reasons for having a portable version was so you could take it to another computer, so i don't understand what the hell system time would have to do with it stop working??

I did read it...i did that before i have been down for over 30 hrs now.

It states::: When you Restore, the Install Key is automatically applied to any copy of MC on the computer used to perform the Restore.

I only have the portable version installed.

It SAID it completed successfully, but then it still says expired and it won't work.

As long as you haven't deleted anything from the device that you have installed the Portable version on to, yes, you will get all your settings back.

No. The Portable version is licenced exactly the same as a full installation on a PC. It is a perpetual licence.
