I've checked the wiki and searched Television threads but haven't been able to locate an answer to how to easily delete TV recordings from Theater View.

The only way I've found to do this is:
locate an unwanted recording,
select Watch to start playback (resume/from beginning always appears),
FF at 100% until the playback stops at the end,
press Stop,
select delete from the resulting menu.

Pressing Stop before the end of the recording does not display the delete menu.

This seems pretty awkward but I've not found any other way in Theater View to delete recordings.
Am I missing something (I hope) but if I'm not can a simpler method be added to Theater view?

If you select a recording, there is a delete option.

The delete on stop option is offered only if the majority of the video has been played (approximately 85%).

Otherwise you will just need to select the file and choose Delete.  You can do this one file at a time, or you can press Enter on a file, choose Select, then go to the next file and repeat.  Once you selected all files you want to delete, press Enter on one of them and choose Delete.

Thanks, that would be great but on my setup no delete option appears. The attached screen shots show a recording selected and next the menu I get when I press enter. As you can see there is no delete option. Either I have some setting wrong or am totally misinterpreting what you're telling me to do. These were taken on V .48

Just choose one episode, like you would want to see the details of the episode. You will see across the top:
Back . . . Watch . . . Watch All . . . Delete . . . etc . . .

Perhaps you can try resetting Theater View settings?  Rather, go to Options > Theater View, and check "Allow file deletion" under Behavior.  You probably disabled that option unknowingly.

This actually reveals a bug (or you might call it a feature):  MC offers to delete the TV recording on stop even if the "Allow file deletion" is off.  I wonder if I should continue allow this loophole.
