Scaling Issue

They are two separate programs, separate executables, written by different entities.  MadVR is bundled with MC.  Both might be responding to a driver or Windows issue. This is supported by your comment that changing your Windows display settings or default monitor fixes the issue.

Some followup questions:

Are you confirming that you actually tested RO Standard and that it behaved the same as MadVR?

What graphics card are you using in the PC?

Please show screenshots of your MC Video Options, including all settings under Display Settings, and also screenshots of all your MadVR Display Modes settings.

Also post a screenshot of the MadVR diagnostic screen when you are playing a 1080p video, like a bluray rip.

1. Yes I am confirming this.

2. A RTX 3090

Mixing different scaling values on the windows desktop is not supported in MC (eg. 100% on one screen and 250% one another). You can try to work around the issue by ensuring that the screen with the higher DPI scaling is the primary screen, and thus viewed by Windows as the primary scale.

Three things:

1. You missed a screenshot:
" and also screenshots of all your MadVR Display Modes settings."
That meant click Open MadVR settings, expand all the monitors under Devices, and show screenshots of the "display modes" tabs.

2. Also show us your options for Options->Tree & View->Full Screen

3. I'm wondering why, in your original post in the thread, you're complaining about 4k display (which is clearly not working correctly) but you make no mention of 1080p display (which is also not scaling correctly).  MadVR is scaling your 1080p content to 2560x1440, which is wrong for a 4k display.  If you knew that was a problem and just didn't mention it, fine. But if you're NOT seeing a problem, when MadVR indicates there is one, it makes me curious.

Try adjusting the option I mention in #2 to explicitly select your TV, at 3840x2160 if it is not already that way.

2. This is an odd one. If I open JRiver with my 1440p monitor set as the primary, it only shows resolutions from my first monitor, not the second (ignore the 5120x2880 ones, that's Dynamic Super Resolution from Nvidia for games).

3.My 4k TV is indeed working correctly, it's just that JRiver is using the resolution from my main monitor for some reason when I drag it onto my TV when started on my 1440p monitor. Here's a screenshot of JRiver working correctly when the 4k TV is set as the primary display: I don't have any 1080p display. Setting my 4k TV as the main display in Windows fixes this, so I guess I'll do that from now on.

Yup, this seems like it's the best work around for me at the moment. Thanks.
