I've had every single version of media center since version 20. never have I had issues with the software until now.
It's an odd issue where the program hangs up sometimes for a second and dissapears, or the audio stops or stutters a fast repeated part of the song for a second and shuts down the program. When I start it up again it wants to start in a safe mode.
this is a common issue, yet have given it exclusions from anti virus, still no changes.
I've not changed any hardware or anything new since this upgrade to version 27. I've had to roll back to 26 to get reliable playback.
most of my files are 24/192 FLAC and 16/44.1 mp3
I had tried one song that oddly seems to crash on it more than others, its 15-16min long 24/192 but it's likely just a random occurance since today alone it's crashed a dozen times in the last hour or so. And have given up on it and went back to 26 for now.
Is there anything I can do to help find out what is causing the crash?

thank you.

It's still probably antivirus, maybe a driver, maybe a hardware problem.  Please take a look at the Weird Problems thread in my signature for ideas.

What OS?  What antivirus?

Windows Defender has to be configured.

Make sure you're using the latest build of MC.

I have looked through that entire thread for more ideas.
I am using same antivirus as always, its bitdefender.
and have not added any new hardware either.
i've added complete exceptions to bitdefender and even disabled it to try to diagnose the issues.

i'm using win10 with all current updates installed.
i'm using the latest build of MC too, just downloaded it again today to try to see if it would fix
Defender allows it inbound and outbound all connections.

Uninstall Bitdefender.

On Win10, Wiindows Defender is recommended.

Read the Win Deffender thread and follow the advice there.
