OT- fresh air in the bedroom

Israel on Sunday lowered its state of alert regarding a feared attack from Iraq, telling citizens they no longer need to carry gas masks and keep a sealed room in their homes, the Defense Ministry said.

It Seems It Has Been A Good Day For Not Only Israel, But The U.S.A. And The World Who Embrace Freedom, The Courage to Help Others and Who Have Non-Terroristic Beliefs.

We Could Have Used 4 Other Countries To Support This Belief.

But it seems like Syria is next to go..."and who knows, maybe Monaco? We'll try to stay serene an calm when Alabama get's the bomb". Quote: Tom Lehrer. But it may actually be that the government is gunning for another "kill" in Syria this time, according to news reports. The soldiers are already there, so... Still, I'm very glad for you, Zevele! :)

>> But it seems like Syria is next to go
I think that will not happen, I would not think that Bush will push his luck.

I will think that Diplomatic Options will be used and when 2004 rolls around and bush is re-elected. If Syria has not handed over the top 55 if they have them you may see some 2,000 pounders in there front yard.

At that point they will need allot of landscapers to get it up to the yard of the year standards

Besides I am sure they will evaluate the Actions of the French and Russia to Help Iraq with Weapons and Intel. Along With Any Intel They Can Find When Going Thru The Country.

I Hope It Is Not True That They Were Providing Weapons And Intel To Iraq. This Would Set Back Relations With Russia Years And I Don't think anyone wants to see that.

As far as the French and Canada goes they need to have a New Election.

This is an interesting article:

http://www.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,4057,6287283%255E25778,00.html

Richard Butler, the previous chief of the UN inspection team seems to echo what the U.S. is now saying.  Syria may have hidden weapons for Iraq.

Monaco should feel quite safe, I suppose. Of some reason the US have always only worried about democracy and freedom in countries of some military and/or economical significance. (Hope there's no-one from Monaco around here. . . . ) :-)

I'm really peaved at the major media outlets in America.

The tone and content often make me think I'm watching some bizzare hyper dramatic movie of the week melded with a colossal sporting event.

The swelling dramatic lead in music (and background music!), the constant scrolling banners and unrelated action clips, the "up close and personal" interviews with relatives on the home front.  Most of this stuff is wholy inappropriate.

And don't get me started on the lack of unbiased reporting...

I think they all tend to lean a bit to the left (CNN, PMSNBC, BBC, NPR) and to the right (Fox News)

I happen to Listen to talk radio when I am not playing music. This includes NPR and BBC On the net Or On My Shortwave Radio.

I kind of started to Boycot CNN after 1991

====================================

But balance I think is a good thing.

Allen Colmes had a 2 hour show after rush back around 1992 and it was after rush so you could let rush take you to the right and then Allen Colmes would bring you back to center. I thought he was good at giving the liberal side of things.

Well, I'd say that after a full show with Rush Limbaugh even I (firmly moderate right, somewhere between the Democrats and the Republicans in US politics) felt like becoming a communist for a few minutes. Luckily it didn't last long, though...  ;)

hehehe

Well Rush does have a sence of humor you just need to know when he is joking. you can't tell sometimes but I have learned to read him (Sometimes it can be done).

My mom and dad can't stand him. so when I am at home I normaly turn him on just to see my moms face turn red (I think she is 73, and normaly walks 2-4 miles a day).

BAGHDAD's power plant is running now, that should help out allot

Yeah, if they can only make the water flow half as good as bull flows out of that man's (Rush) mouth, they'll be all right.  ;D

I really did not think he was joking, his views seemed to be a bit to the right of Pat Buchanan's and just a tad to the left of Atilla the Hun's!  8)

Well I take rush with a grain of salt, just like i take everyone else.

It would be nice to get the straight info without the fluff and adlib like sometimes you get on CNN, Foxnews, etc... and yes errors in reporting.

Maybe By The End of The Week We Can Be More Informed On What Is Happening In Iraq. From What I Have Seen And Heard They Are Holding Things Back (Like Normal).

>> Atilla the Hun's
I Knew A Commander Who Had His Book, Displayed Front And Center Where The Troops Had To See It When They Reported To Him. The Commander Was A Rather Nice Guy And Was Learning on Attila the Hun's Leadership Techniques.

What you speak about concerning media is a tipycal anglo-saxon situation== you have only local channels.

In the rest of the world , with cable or satellite TV ,you get channels from all other the word.
Of cause there is the limitation of the language.

But here you can listen to CNN and Fox ,but also  BBC and SkyNews [UK] and Jordan ,Egypt,Levanon, they all have news in english.
With french , i have acces to France ,Morocco, Canada,Jordan,Levanon,Egypt, Belgium,Suisse.

In fact i was most of the time with SkyNews - by far the best coverage- , one french channel who had very deep and good debates with guests , and our chanels  who really understand what is going on ,with people having arabic as mother tongue.and a very good understanding of the countrys around us.

Syria would not be invade for now ,but they may get hard times.

My deep feeling is that Syria is much a danger than Irak was
