I've been fighting this problem for years. When I try to attach an image to my posts in this forum I go through the "Attachments and other options" process and then hit "Preview", and the image never appears. The image only appears after I click "Post". Also, I cannot drag an image into the message box without getting a "not allowed" icon. This problem occurs in this forum only.

I've been using this forum for 15 years, am currently using Windows 10 version 2004, and I've always had this problem.

What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. That is the way this forum works. It may be configurable, or it may just be the way the SMF software works.

JPGs. I only upload JPG file.

Also, I'm using Firefox version 82.0.2 on my Win10 system.

As I mentioned earlier, that is the way the forum software works.

Preview only shows images if you use an [img] tag and reference external images using a URL.

Please take a look at the following message in which I was able to post an image:

[Solved] One File Out of 8000 Does Not Sort Correctly in MC

(I lined out the first sentence of that post.)

I uploaded the image from my computer. I did not reference an external URL.

I still don't know why I can no longer insert an image into a post. What changed??

See the attached image. This is how the post your mentioned looks to me. That is completely normal. The image only shows up when you click the "Post" button to post the message. The image does not show up when you Preview the message.

Nothing is wrong. If you think images used to show up when you Previewed a message, you are remembering incorrectly.

There was a change a while back so that attached images are maximised instead of showing as icons in the forums. But that is all.
