Entire library corrupted after MC9 HELP!
« on: April 14, 2003, 06:03:08 pm »

:'(I upgraded from MJ8 to MC9 and now 1500+ songs originally ripped under MJ8 all have 3 digit's in preceding the title, and won't play??  When I rip a new CD, everything ok like MJ8.  Is there a utility I can run my library through that will restore these songs to a usable format?  Or ... do I have to delete the entire library and re-rip over 150 CD's just to use MC9 ?
 ie: 1.02 Mack the Knife ....... as opposed to
      Mack the Knife ......... wma

Help please ... and thank you.

No idea.  If the files are tagged, you could delete them from the library and re-import them.

During upgrade, a library backup was made in your J River\Media Center\Data\Upgrade Backups directory.

Try restoring your library from there. (File->Libraries->Restore Library)

If it's still messed up, send a copy of the backup to matt @ jriver.com and we'll take a look.

Thanks!

I would just delete the library and reimport all the files.

in a matter of mins it will work again.

===========================

do all of them have "1.02 " in them or something diffrent?

if the same: you can use find and replace and replace "1.02 " with "" and this would then remove all the garbage.
