JRiver Library issues.Need to clean it up
« on: December 27, 2020, 06:13:12 pm »

Good day

I am on JRiver 24

i am a tad tired of(likely my error) of my library retaining files that are no longer on the drives

i have tried rescanning/importing those drives but the once removed are still in the library

i have 6 HDDs in total

How do i purge all these no longer on HDDs files from my library?

One way i think may work is to simply remove them from my library? Is that too extreme?

i don`t mid rescanning/importing all my drives,it wont take too long.If so how do i delete my entire library if this is the way to do it?

Or reinstall JRiver would be a bit more extreme. Then re import?

Cheers

I can understand why it's annoying you, but it's a problem of your own making.

Luckily it is easy to fix.

If you have already deleted files from your drive, as you have, deleting them from the library is not extreme, it is the correct thing to do.

Use the smartlist described here to identify all the files in your library that are not on the disk:
https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Broken_Links

Then delete them from the library.

To prevent this from continuing to trouble you in the future, change your behavior: stop deleting media files from outside JRiver, and instead use JRiver to delete them. You can thereby delete them from the disk and from the MC library in one step.

Good luck!
