You don't need Webremote with new builds of MC -- it has Remote Server (the same thing, different name) built in.

Look under Options -> Startup -> Remote Server

Matt,
Not to be argumentative, but it is not exactly the same thing.  As I mentioned in the following thread,
http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Other_Plugins;action=display;num=1033055280, there is still no way to determine whether the Remote Server is connecting.  The old Web Remote plug in, had a screen that you could go to where you could start and stop the server, change the port, (yes, I know that exists with Remote Server) but it also allowed you to see line by line, what was happening with the connection, so you could see that the connection was "live" and what the interaction was between the "client" and "server".

I am very glad to see this feature incorporated into MC, so please don't take this in the wrong way, but it is a difference between the old way and the new way.

Hmmm Matt, I understand that but if you select the artist/album with glissando media core gets an error...

AppName: media jukebox.exe AppVer: 90143.0 ModName remoteserver.dll

I am also having errors in netremote on a compaq ipaq, it locks when I go into the album/artist tree section.

I really am not having much luck controlling MC remotely.

Is there anyway to turn on debug/logging for the remote server function.

rossp,
did you try using the base functionality of the remote server from a browser.  If you put in the IP address and Port Number, you should get the standard remote server page.

See if this works, and that will help determine if it is truly a remote server issue, or if it may be the Glissando or Net Remote Interfaces to the web remote.

I tried the web interface and that worked fine. Also netremote is working fine now, turned out to be the power saving feature of my compaq ipaq wifi card  :-[

Glissando is another story though, can't find anyway to get it not to kill the remteserver.dll. When it has crashed even restarting MC will not cure the rpoblem. Seems a dirty dll is left in memory  :'(

Is there a glissando web site or forum.

Check the "Third party.." board here for the Glissando post.
