I routinely work inside MC with 7 or 8 tabs and sometimes the max allowed tabs of 10 open at a time. I open them in a certain order with related tabs next to each other. The problem I have sometimes is accidentally closing a tab, say tab 2, then having to open that tab again but it is now the last tab in the list and no longer adjacent to the tab it's related to. I've always wished I could adjust the order of those tabs.

Yes I'm one of those people that have a couple hundred tabs open at once in my browsers.

If you use the same order all the time you can

View -> Load/Save View ->

And save/load your tab layout there.  Saves a lot of the pain you describe.

But, also, yes it would be nice to be able to rearrange tabs.

Doubling the max number of tabs would also be good.

I'm working on making tabs draggable.  It will be coming to MC28.

Wee tip... You can middle-click tree items to open them in a new tab. I routinely have between ten and fourteen open. The only issue with that, is that MC doesn't handle things very well when the number of tabs won't fit in the available space. TBH, fourteen is probably too many anyway, I also have a default fallback saved as per mark_h's advice, which is used pretty regularly too.

Draggable tabs might be a handy thing though....

With somewhere in the region of eleven tabs open here, all links disappear into a little drop menu. This is good, at least they are still there.

In thumbnails views, make a selection in the view, and now, tabs need more space to accomodate the "Clear selection" text, and the thumbnail slider disappears from view completely. That should probably never happen.

You know, there will be many different opinions about what should happen...
Some might prefer they overflow onto a second row of tabs, but not me. I would prefer the overflow stopped short of wiping out the thumbnail slider and instead, fell into their own overflow menu, like the links do already.

Also this was the easiest upgrade process so far. Pleasantly surprised that even my skin themes for theater view transferred automatically.
