Browser engine is not working

The web browser engine is not working properly.
Please retry the website, or download and install the latest version of Media Center....

This is the last version... what should I do?

If you're on Windows 7, there *may* be issues, I'm not sure how well the WebView2 version of Edge works on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 (from what I recall, it's compatible with them but maybe there's issues/bugs). There's also a chance Windows 7 wasn't tested for this, since it's a dead OS now. For best results with the new Edge browsing engine Windows 10 should probably be used.

Can you try installing this component from Microsoft?

The Media Center installer is supposed to install it for you if its not present, but maybe something went wrong there.
It is also generally recommended (and required to some degree) to have all Windows updates installed - in particular on Windows 7, which is out of official support by Microsoft now, so long-term its hard to consider the implications for new features going forward.

FYI - I have reported problems loading the Streaming option with MC 28 on Windows 7. I installed WebView2 using your link and the Streaming option is now loading. So, your fix should fix the Streaming option also. Thanks.
