Zones behavior changed with Windows upgrade
« on: June 25, 2021, 12:10:52 pm »

Zones have been working great for me for years until I upgraded to the latest Windows build.

I could play four different songs to four different Zones simultaneously.

The configuration that worked:

⦁   Windows 10 version 1709
⦁   Media Center 26
⦁   7.1 USB Audio device with manufacturers driver installed.
⦁   Zone 1 : Audio Device = USB2.0 High_Speed True HD Audio (Direct Sound). Device Settings = Left Front - Right Front
⦁   Zone 2 : Audio Device = USB2.0 High_Speed True HD Audio (Direct Sound). Device Settings = Left Rear - Right Rear
⦁   Zone 3 : Audio Device = USB2.0 High_Speed True HD Audio (Direct Sound). Device Settings = Center - Low Frequency
⦁   Zone 4 : Audio Device = USB2.0 High_Speed True HD Audio (Direct Sound). Device Settings = Left Side - Right Side

After upgrading to newest Windows build, audio played to Zone 1 2 3 or 4 plays only to Zone 1.

I have been scratching my head on this one for some time. Any advice would be appreciated.

Compare the settings in both.  Zones haven't changed.

Thanks for the quick reply.

To be clear I did not change anything in Media Center.

I simply upgraded windows on the machine from 1709 to 20H2. Nothing else was changed, so I have nothing to compare too.

It appears to be a result of upgrading windows.
