Licensing Question When Upgrading
« on: August 07, 2021, 11:20:41 pm »

Hello,

I buy yearly a 'master license' and face the same "count down temporary install key" issue every year as well. I install the new version when it is stable. Some computers recognize the existing previous version and install the new one without any problem. One of my older computers does not recognize the previous version when installing the new version and asks for the access key. And so the count down starts.... What should I do to prevent this problem ? Install the new version earlier ?
Secondly, is the countdown temporary install key for a master license limited to 10 times (I thought it was 20 times previously) ?

Thanks for your help.

Read about how licensing works here:
https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Restoring_a_License

I think you must mean Registration Code, not Access Key.

The Install Key is good for 14 days.  After  that, you must use your Registration Code.

A Master License has 15 restores, but you get new ones 365 days after each has been used.  You can always ask here if you run out.

Thanks Jim.
Indeed registration code and not access code.
What's best : install the new version as soon as released or wait for stable version (to overcome the registration code "14 days" period) ?
Thanks

You can install at any time and restore your license.
