Both Media Center and Media JukeBox?
« on: March 27, 2003, 10:04:32 am »

Hi

I read the discussion in topic "MC 9.134 Slow loading program" where JimH asking how big the database and .jmd files was at DocLotus.

I took a look in my on and found something that I hope someone can give an answer to.

I have under C:\Program\J River both Media Center and Media Jukebox and the file Data in both. The only diff, as I can see, is that Media Center Data also have Backups.

When I click on Data and compare I see five files with .jmd extension in both MC Data and MJ Data and the biggest is the mediafiles.jmd.
Is this correct, I mean should I have both MC and MJ?

I started some months ago with MJ and the went to MC.

I have .134

The MJ directory is probably old.  Try re-naming it and see if MC runs.

Had this problem. The solution for me was to change the existing "track image location", which still pointed to the old MJ-folder.

Go to "options" - "file naming & locations" and change the "track image location" to the MC-folder (for ex. "C:\Programme\Media Center\Data\Thumbnails"). Then copy all existing cover art files from the MJ-directory to this directory. Rename the old MJ-folder and test. If all works, you can delete the old MJ-folder. Maybe you have to retag the new path to cover art in your tracks ...

Thank you fex

I'll try your way after work some day during the weekend. I'll be back with information about the result.

Greetings ::)

Hi fex
I have done everything but I didn't understand the last part of your advice: "Maybe you have to retag the new path to cover art in your tracks ... ".

Could you please explain it little more in details, thank you.
