A query regarding Fields in MC standard view
« on: February 12, 2022, 04:51:33 am »

Below is the snapshot of my MC library in standard view. In the fields column, i manually fill the Language and Date(release)  columns using the Tags option. My query : Where is this information stored ?Is it permanently written into the file itself (thus modifying it) or is it just stored in the database library without altering the original files ? Furthermore, each video song file has multiple audio tracks(DTS-HDMA, Dolby TRU-HD, DTS-X, Dolby Atmos etc ). I need a field which shows the number of audio tracks in each file. Is this option already available. If not , can this be included in MC29 as a feature request ?

The wiki has information on tagging.

Depending on the format of a file, the information you enter for a tag can be stored in the file or in a sidecar.  See MC options for settings.  There is a search at the bottom.
