Can I opt out of using YADB and FREEDB?
« on: March 05, 2022, 07:09:39 pm »

Hi! When ripping CDs, I tend to like just using what is obtained from the CD or what I supply, even though it can be more work. I tend to not like getting information or cover art from the Internet.

I'm using MC 28 for Windows and know how to turn off getting cover art from the Internet, but is there a way to turn off getting all information from the Internet and avoid using YADB, FREEDB, or any other source?

Thanks!

You can edit the information of you're not happy with it.

Disconnect your internet when ripping. I connect to the internet when ripping and it isn't a big deal to do so. Surely it is easier to edit the information from the internet than it is to manually enter everything manually.

Tools->Options->Metadata
Uncheck "allow automatic CD lookup/submission"

Some CD's have CDText.
When they have that it's really nice for getting that info the way the manufacturer meant it.
