wma Conversion Cache Files in Library
« on: March 30, 2022, 06:50:58 pm »

Recently all these started showing up in the library and search results. How do I stop this?

I have been syncing files to many devices for many years with conversion cache enabled. Recently flipped to wma only from flac & other formats for the car library. Ever since these converted wma files are now showing up in the JR library.

  • Deleted & clear all stacks in my library.
  • Moved the cache from H:\ to J:\ to start cleanly.
  • J:\Conversion Cache is the location where J:\ is excluded from Import settings. Tried exclude J:\Conversion Cache, J:\Conversion Cache\Audio but still show up.

I want to keep the conversion cache for obvious performance reasons since these SSDs usually have 40-50k files on them. I would dislike to have to put cache excludes in SmartLists when the product is built to support cache.

Check your auto import settings.  You can edit and exclude.

Yes and thanks... however I never use this as it will busy out JRiver for an extended period of time on connect.

I was able to isolate to multi-channel [SACD] files erroring out on wma conversion during Sync. I guess it is remnant cache not cleansed(?). I created a SmartList and removed >2 channel from the SSD sync playlists.  The problem and files are no longer present.
