Friday -- No build tonight
« on: March 07, 2003, 01:05:09 pm »

Sorry, but no new build tonight either.  For whatever it's worth, you wouldn't want MC in the state it's in now anyway.

We're retooling the menu system so the whole program will share the same system. (right-click, toolbar, main menu, etc.)  Today was spent rewriting a main menu / toolbar system from scratch.

When everything is done, we'll have a lot more flexibility with how and where we can present features and options. (no more flat lists of playlists, no more options missing from the main program menu, etc.)

So, as a side step, has anybody seen ZRocker's car?  He bought it new in 1982 and has babied it since.  Pretty cool if you ask me. ( www.zrocker.com )

Does anybody else around here have a cherry ride?

Aww yeah, cc does.  I got myself a PIMP-A-LICIOUS ride!  1993 Dodge Grand Caravan.  Silver.  Beige upholstry.  Built-in baby seats.

I know you're envious, most people are.

You don't need to read it.  It's as nice and simple a user interface as I've ever seen, the Palm Desktop being right up there, too.

Here's a great forum for TiVo discussion:

Check the HMO option.

i think i got most things worked out now.

I got it recording and all that I just needed to fiure out what some of the things ment and worked.

I bought some fertilizer for my yard ($250 for 6 bags) i guess i will do that next.

Getting fruit trees in at Lowes and Home Depot, cherry trees are about $19.00 a bit small for the price but i may buy some anyway since they are hard to find if you don't get them now.

one thing i do need is a 9 pin to a 15 pin connector for my older Sat System.

YES YES YES!!!

I smell GUI Change - Thank you!!!!

Ooh, soo nice, cant wait :)

Small suggestion while your doing it - iTunes has this and I just have been trying Easy CD Creator v6 which has it too.

On EVERY screen where a playlist is being displayed there is a 'Burn' button.
You simple click it and the current playlist is instantly burnt onto a CD. Just before it burns it brings up a dialog letting you confirm the burn settings then it burns them.

It's SUCH a nice way to quickly and easily put any compilation, album etc onto a cd. No thinking about it, no seperate screen, no nothing - just the songs your looking at instantly put onto cd.

Also - stealing from WMP - Having a list with all the playlists permenantly visible and selectable to play is quite nice :)

Anyway - I'm sure you guys are already doing a great job and have tons of great ideas.

Cant wait to try it, between this and the Sticky Views - these are going to be the biggest improvements to useability.

One thing - Can I remind about hotkey access - Ctrl+R to call the 'rename' tool, etc etc while your re-doing the tools and menu's. It's soo nice on a program when the common tools are all listed with key combinations to use them. It's soo much faster than clicking around menu's :)

ooh, and one thing,
I'm not sure what your doing with the right click menu's exactly.
But with the 'Send To' menu - if this could replicate the XP Start menu where we can set the number of items it remembers (right now it just remembers one) and also if we could have it so we can 'stick' items to it, that'd be sooo nice :)
xx

Lol. Sorry to go on :)
