Installing MC30 and Questions

MC27 was working before I upgraded to MC30. I disabled Windows Defender and gave an exception/permission to the installation file and it didn't work. Now, no JRiver (MC30 or MC27) can be installed. Could you please help me?

The first progress bar you see, is it titled "Extracting"? And then nothing else? Or do you get the "Install Wizard" dialog where you have to accept the User Agreement?
If you don't get past the Extracting part, it's possible that your TEMP folder is not pointing to a valid location. Press WIN+R (Run) and type "%TEMP%" without quotes. Does it open a folder? Which folder path?
You can also open the Windows Event Viewer right after trying to install MC and check the Application and System logs to see if there are any errors logged.
Finally you can try to extract the install package manually and install from there:
- install 7-Zip (https://www.7-zip.org/)
- right-click on the installer file (MediaCenter300060-x64.exe), Select "7-Zip -> Extract to "MediaCenter300060-x64\"
- run the InstallLauncher.exe or Install.exe located in that folder
This may also fail, but should provide more information.

Yes, with a little pause at "40%" and goes to "100%"
And then nothing else?
Yes, nothing is happening after this.
Or do you get the "Install Wizard" dialog where you have to accept the User Agreement?
No.

Look for a dialog window hidden under other window(s). I have on more than one application run afoul of hidden permission windows.

Turn your second monitor on? :)
Is your user an Administrator of your machine? It needs to be.
You can check if the installer is still running after the Extraction progress bar finishes - either in Task Manager, or by looking for an icon in the Windows taskbar.
@Devs: is it possible that the installer starts at off-screen saved coordinates?
