Help, I Fried My Database
« on: November 26, 2022, 06:09:10 pm »

Some of my audio wouldn't play because the filenames showed the E:\ drive when it should be the F:\ drive.  The audio files were ripped from CDs using MC25.
I selected all albums (which is a bad idea), then I went to Tools-Library Tools-Rename Move &Copy Files (F6).
Selected Find & Replace.
Find What:  E:\Music
Replace With:  F:\Music
Now I cannot play any music and it turns out all of my music has the filename field blank.  Now nothing plays.

How can I fix this?

Thanks

Restore backup and use find and replace to change the drive letter only.

Thanks, I was hoping for something easier than restoring from a backup.
This was the first time I restored from a backup and it was so fast and easy.  Now I'm not afraid to wreck my database anymore, but I won't be trying to wreck it.
Thanks again, just what I needed.

I always try find and replace on one file first and only select all the files that I want to change when I am happy that the expression is doing what I want.
