Hiccups in C-Mediaplayback - anybody noticed this?
« on: March 02, 2003, 04:02:04 am »

I have two C-Media sound cards on my HTPC/Multi-zone audio computer, and both have the same problem: Sometimes the playback stops at a point and just play that sound continuously. At times this lasts only a few seconds, but sometimes it get stuck there. Also it can happen that playback pauses for half a second or so. This only happens on these soundcards, I have not heard it on the generic USB sound card, the Audigy or the Live. Any ideas?

I'd say it started about a month ago, whatever build that might have been. I don't think I have changed anything else on my system, I prefer not to change anything when the system is stable, except new ATI drivers when they become available. And I have tried two different Catalysts since the problem started (3.0a and 3.1). I can go back (with the images I have of the PC in different stages), but I'd rather not.  8)

Hi Mastiff,
Is your playback set to Direct Sound?  Try Wave out.
