Ratings field (again)
« on: February 11, 2023, 08:21:48 pm »

So I have used google jriver delete ratings field from views

Some prior enquiries result but no answer.

I want to globally hide the ratings field from all views, or globally make the column width 0 or else 1 if necessary.

I do not need it and it takes up screen space. I have managed to delete the word ratings and blank the field. But still have the column. There is a greyed out box in tags.

I can delete hide adjust it temporarily but it always comes back.

Thanks in advance g49

Right click on the heading and select the columns you want.  You can also drag and drop them.

If you have an MC Client connected to MC Server, you need to make the View changes on the server, and then restart the client to see them. Most changes on the clients are not preserved, they always revert to whatever is defined on the server (unfortunately).

I am using windows 11, MC 30.

I click on the windows icon on task bar, navigate to jriver and click server, nothing appears on screen.

If I right click media server on task bar I have options show media centre, Zones, close media server.

If I double click Media Server on task bar media centre opens.

How do I access server?

I meant the scenario where you have MC running on one PC, acting as a Media Server, and then another MC running on a different PC acting as a Client. This is how it's used by many, but some customization settings on the Client PC are lost, by design.

Yes it is the server PC that I have been attempting to lock out the ratings field.

So not sure which of these worked, but I think after 4 days I have won:

Used administrator mode, got rid of sort numbers on heading bar, held shift key down as I exited. (Also played around in menus but could not see anything to change)

I have rebooted X 2 and all seems well.

Thanks for your assistance.

Back to enjoying the music regards g
