Update MC:

Update the NAS firmware.

Network drivers are also a possibility.

Did you import files from the NAS?  Or are you using DLNA.  Import is preferred.

tiggerkater:
thanks jim,
i will update (manually, right?)
i am importing directly from NAS, not using dlna.
i did update the NAS firmware, but the problem still occurs. it may be a (too slow) network-switch i was using. i am now trying direct connection, because the problem is new.
could be old NAS and old network switch.
thanks for all your help, kind regards!

JimH:
You can update manually or subscribe to the Latest channel.  Here's how it works:

Did it begin when you switched to Gigabit networking?

tiggerkater:
hi jim,
i am doing still some more evaluation, but it seems, that an old network switch (too slow) was causing the problem.
with a direct connection, i had no problems yesterday.
thanks again for all the great support.

before opening a new thread, could you point me perhaps to where to look for the best video playback options/settings (i was using madvr, but i think jriver improved his own engine a lot?!) THANKS!
kind regards!

JimH:
Good to hear.  Red October topic on the wiki.
