MC30 crash recording ONE particular channel
« on: March 28, 2023, 04:08:34 am »

Another issue with TV for me ;
Since few weeks, I can't record one particular channel, the other works (at least some of them I didn't try all) but not this one.
I can watch it, time-shift it, but not record.
When it starts recording, MC30 keeps crashing/restarting till the program is over, creating plenty of empty files and directories.

For information I have another problem that I posted on another topic (topic:135510.0), I want to precise that it concerns another channel (I have 2 different problems with 2 differents channels, however all other work fine).

For info, here is channel's detail that caused the problem :
Type: DVB-T
   Database key: 12796162
   XMLTV Identifier: C111.api.telerama.fr
   Attributes:
       Favorite
Not a member of a group
   Network ID: 8442
   Service ID: 1031
   TSID: 4
   Frequency: 626000
   Bandwidth: 8
   ONID: 8442
   Audio PID: 330
   Audio format: E-AC3 Audio
   Video PID: 320
   Video format: AVC1/H.264 Video
   Is DVB2: False
   Is scrambled: False

How to investigate further and fix such problem ?

Regards
Philippe

PS: I have attached 2 MC dumps generated during crashes

I"ve just reported the same issue a few messages above. Happy to see that we are at least 2 to have the same problem on the same Channel: Arte.
We are not in the same area as you have a different frequency. We also have different tuners as mine are from Hauppauge.
Arte has 4 language pid and 3 subtitle. It is more than the other channels and  that is the only differences than I can see.
Hope that Yaobing can find a solution.

Can you two go to TV Options and set Time-shifting method to "Use Program Stream time-shifting (original method...)" and see if the problem goes away?

@PhDSM, you said in another thread that you were using program stream time-shifting, but your dmp files seem to suggest you were using Transport Stream time-shifting.  Please double-check.

Your attached dump files do not include the accompanying log files.  Can you provide the log files too?

So i did 2 recording attempt on this channel which failed again,  then after restart I record another channel which worked fine.
Attache is the dump of the failure and the Log file ( As it is difficult to catch the dump file, the one attached correspond to the 2nd attempt).
PS: I will be away for a few days so I may not  be able to answer until Monday or Tuesday.

@PhDSM and @Yaobing Sorry to interfere in this thread but I have the same issue in the same country and the same channel : Arte,  in the last versions of MC30.
Yaobing you already solved the problem for me  in MC 30.0.33

Happy with this stable version, I have used it a few months without updating. I have just update it and now it crashes again when recording Arte. I have reported the issue  here with a log https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,135526.0.html .
I have just reinstalled MC 30.0.33 and it didn't  crash when recording Arte. Then I reinstalled 30.0.89 and it doesn't crash anymore.
I'll investigate more, I really don't understand what s happening here

@PhDSM and @Yaobing Sorry to interfere in this thread

I meant for you to join this discussion.

Is your time-shifting method Program Stream or Transport stream?

We found a suspect.

Please test this DLL JRTelevision.dll

Install MC30.0.89 (linked by Jim above) first, then download the file here, unzip, and copy into MC installation folder.

I have installed mc30.0.89 and the new dll. Tried a recording on the 2 computers of the Arte channel and there is no crash. I have programmed 4 recordings on each of them  and will let you know tonight the result.
