A reminder email prompted me to upgrade my Win10 license to V.31.  I paid by PayPal.  Now my SSN shows under my name in the Registration Info page under Help.

How do I get that SSN deleted, and how did JRiver get it via PayPal?  I have read and reread just about everything online and there seems to be no support other than this forum to deal with confidential information disclosure.  Please advise soonest on how I get my JRiver registration info scrubbed?

That's strange.  I've never seen that.  Did you check your Paypal account profile?  Maybe it's in the name field or somewhere else it doesn't belong.

  • Autumn shade...

If PayPal is adding SSN information somehow, that seems like a total security breach waiting to happen from them. They shouldn't be exposing that at all when using it to check out.

  • Where did I put my teeth?

It's extremely unlikely that Paypal is doing that.

I paid with PayPal, and whilst non-US I've definitely not got anything that shouldn't be there in the name field.

  • There is a small mailbox here.

Which browser are you using? And which operating system?

One possibility for this behavior is that the browser is saving autofill info for a login or your payment details or your address. And that autofill info managed to capture and save your SSN as one of the fields.

I'd first investigate whether the SNN is somehow saved in one of the browser autofill fields. And figure out how to delete that info from the saved settings in the browser.

Less likely is that Paypal is somehow displaying that field and info. It shouldn't be, and doesn't display that info for me.
