Background: A Panes view lists all tracks for the selected criteria. This is great in most situations, however there are important use cases (filtered album lists) when one wants to display Details showing only album names and other album-related details without track listings. While this is currently possible, the path to do so in a Pane is somewhat tricky and requires defining a "customized" view.
Request: Please make it easy to switch tracks on/off in Pane view Details. Three possible solutions:
(1) Pane view tab > hover pop-up menu > List Style >
Details (Hide Track Names)(2) In the Names category, add a new sticky selection "Hide Names" below "All Names (...)" and above the actual track names.
(3) Logically extend functionality of the existing Custom Toolbar Button "Toggle File List" (or add a new button for use with Panes only) to hide/show tracks when in a Pane View.
All of these still allow for flexible track selections using the Pane categories, including Name. However the actual track names are to be eliminated in the filtered Details view, condensing it to show only album names. Track-dependent Detail columns (like Title, Bit Rate, etc.) are either left empty or are completely hidden.
I would hope the implementation is relatively "straightforward" since most of the underlying functionality is already present.
