Playing from Windows JRiver server troubles
« on: June 16, 2023, 12:40:41 pm »

Hi there!
Recently I had some problems playing on my Mac from a Windows JRiver server.
Both Pc and Mac run the same latest version of MC31 but whatever Options setting I set regarding playback, playback interrupts frequently at the end of tracks.
Sometime MC on the Mac visualize the waveform of the next track but it doesn't play it and sometimes it seems to play that track but only visually as I can't hear anything until I stop it and after same seconds start playback again.
With MC30 I don't remember having any similar problem…

Also I seem to be unable to deselect "Resample uncommon sample rates automatically" in the Audio options…is that normal?

Cheers

Are you connecting to the windows server as a library server client or pushing material to the Mac as a DLNA renderer FROM the windows server??

What happens then?  Are you using the Mac to control the Windows machine?  Or are you trying to play from the Windows machine to the Mac?

I play from the Windows server to the Mac.
In the last two years I played music from the Windows server that way and never had any issue about it…

So to clarify, you are sitting in front of your windows server sending tracks to the Mac not the other way around?

No…the other way round!  ;)
I'm sitting in front of my Mac and load the server library on it and then try to play…

But I now suspect it's a matter of connection as I get the same problem on my bootcamp Windows partition on the same Mac.
But I didn't have any similar problem with MC30 so I reckoned it was a bug or something like that on the new version.
I will try and check if the problem persists…

If you are using a wired connected, look for issues with your network switch. We've seen that (and I've had that issue) more than once.
If not, check your router, perhaps reboot it.
