Album Art Display for Box Set
« on: July 04, 2023, 08:39:11 am »

Hi.

I'm using Mac Media Center 31.0.12 (Intel).

Just a question please.  Can MC display the album art of a Box Set in List View for each album?  The Box set comprises of different albums, each with its unique album art.  It displays the cover art of the first album.  Couldn't each album have its own art?  I hope the image explains it better.

Thanks.

The most straight forward way to do this would be to name each disc with a unique album title.  Something like "The Complete Original Song Books (1)".  Then MC knows they are separate albums and can attach separate album art to each and group them appropriately.

There is probably some other way to do it with additional metadata and additional levels of sorting, but I'm not sure how.

Best of luck,
Brian.

The Disc # tag should let you do that.

Thank you for replying.  I thought that as a solution, tbh.  It's just that they are apple lossless files and would have preferred to leave the files intact and let MC find an alternative means.  I guess there's no other option.  Thanks again for replying.

The files don't have to change.  The metadata can be stored in MC's library.  It's optional.

I ended up changing the Album name; added each Song Book.  It'll help me identify albums quicker.  I'm so used to finding items by artwork.  Still it's good to know that I can amend Library metadata.  Again, thank you most kindly.
