It's probably going to be hard to test/develop for this unless a dev has a Windows tablet handy. Improving MC use on a touchscreen Windows device could be pretty appealing, I know when I was using a Windows tablet whenever I used MC I had to connect a mouse and keyboard for best results as trying to use MC's standard view via touchscreen was a bit of a pain. In the end I can see why using an old iOS/Android phone, or a iPad, Android tablet, etc. running JRemote for iOS, JRemote2 for Android, MO 4Media, Panel, Gizmo, etc. is appealing as a controlling for a system like the OP seems to be doing. Windows tablet, not so much...
I will offer a somewhat workaround to enea.aurel for using MC on a Windows tablet, and that's controlling MC in a web browser via Panel. Basically, enable media network, then with MC open (and minimized) open Panel in a web browser, in Panel's settings set the Play to zone from Here to Player, and you'll be able to navigate and control MC that way. You should be able to use the on-screen keyboard and everything this way. Yeah, it's a little complicated and cumbersome having to do this, but it does work in the end.
