Audio files changed, but why?
« on: October 01, 2023, 10:13:16 am »

Last night about 400GB (of about 1TB) of audio files changed on disk, and subsequently started to back up. Since I back up to the cloud and have a data cap (darn you, Xfinity!), this was not good. I didn't play or modifiy any of these files. No metadata looks ups or anything.

In JRiver, the "Date Modified" column doesn't show the files where modified. For example, Date Modified shows 2021 in JRiver on all the tracks of one album, but the file system shows yesterday (9/30/2023).

I do have write tags to files ON.

Is there a way to see if JRiver changed a file? Is there a way to audit or log file change operations in JRiver? Does JRiver have any nightly or periodic jobs that would changes files?

Thanks.

Mostly a headphone guy. I use JRiver exclusively for music.
