DLNA Metadata
« on: November 22, 2023, 03:08:41 pm »

I picked up an amplipi (https://www.micro-nova.com/amplipi) recently and use it as a DLNA renderer for JRiver. It works fairly well for this. The amplipi also has a webview. I believe they added support for DLNA metadata on their latest release, but I'm not seeing any of that from JRiver. JRiver is the only DLNA server I have and the amplipi is the only DLNA renderer that I use, so my troubleshooting is basically nothing. What is a good way to validate that JRiver sends or publishes metadata via DLNA? Thanks!

It probably gets it on the renderer from the file itself.  Are the tags stored in the file?

Yeah, these tags would be stored in the files themselves. Maybe I'll set up another renderer (uPnP?) to help demonstrate that the issue is with the amplipi, not MC.

You could use MC as the renderer.  On another machine, or maybe on the same one.
