Question for BennyD about MP3Gain
« on: February 10, 2003, 01:12:07 am »

Hi Benny,

I read your comment on the last few builds about MP3 Gain as an external tool.
I too got this program and I want to use it from within MediaCenter.
What is the correct parameter to send a single song to MP3Gain?

Thanks,

Mark

You may know, but you can right click on a file and do Send To/External Tool/[any program].  The first time you run it, you will need to set it up.

Jim, I knew that.
It's quite easy to do that. But... the problem is I don't know how to set up MP3Gain, so that when I start it from within MC it shows the file I selected in MC.

Something like c:\program files\mp3gain\mp3gain.exe /c:\my music\abba - waterloo.mp3.

So do you, Jim, or BennyD have the right parameter for me instead of the one I put in red?

In the parameters you have to put:

/r [FILENAME]

for the executable you have to use MP3GAIN.EXE

Hope this helps.

It works for only 1 file though.

Matt, Jim, any news on when multiple files will be supported to send to external tool ?

Even though I never use it, I also noticed the behaviour trying to use Tag&Rename with the "Send to external tool". Picking x files opens x Tag&rename :)
