I assume it uses whatever is appropriate for the locale when the "Analyze" is performed. This will be fixed in the next build so you can re-name the image files back to use the periods.

To have a top job, it would be more correct to use the "Aspect Ratio Calculated" field instead of "Aspect Ratio".
This however involves the use of SoT

I changed the version number, but despite this, with today's update I lost my custom templates again.
My situation of the Library>backup folder is the one attached: is there an error?
Among other things, the xml file reports the version number as 2.2: shouldn't it be 2.3?

It is upgrading to 2.3 so it backs up 2.2 which is correct. You can delete the extra Backup directory which is erroneous from before. That is, get rid of Library\Backup\Backup but keep Library\Backup.
