Crash during single folder import (audio)
« on: February 19, 2024, 06:43:45 am »

Tried importing a single album/folder as I usually do. Near the end of the process, MC 32.0.18 (64-bit) disappears/terminates. Nothing special about this folder, just the usual flac files (CD-quality) and a few jpeg ones which are not imported anyway.

I re-opened MC and the album has indeed been imported. I check the imported files for "Analyze Audio" and they have not been analyzed, even though they should (the relevant option was enabled during import). I tried analyzing them, and MC crashes the same way again. So, it looks like Audio Analysis is related. I already sent you a log via email.

This looks suspiciously similar to my recent, and yet unresolved Blu-Ray issue.

Looks like a Microsoft compiler bug requiring a newer CPU than the one you have regardless of the fact that our compiler settings aren't asking for it.

Thanks for checking. Just verified that it also crashes when I just try to play an audio file. Essentially, MC has suddenly become unusable on my main PC.

Yes, the hardware is in serious need of a complete replacement, but I'd still hope you will keep looking for a quick solution here.

It will be fixed in the next build.
Thanks for the report.

Many thanks. All crashes described here no longer occur, including the ones in the Blu-Ray thread.
