Feature request: duplicate album scan with options
« on: April 30, 2024, 10:24:42 pm »

I just thought about this as I was ripping CDs. I have several in MP3 format that I'm replacing with FLAC. A cool feature for JRiver would be to check the CD in the drive against the DB and give options for overwriting or duplicating the results it finds. So it finds a copy of Holst's The Planets already in the DB. Does JRiver make a new copy or overwrite, both with options like upgrade compression format or bitrate?

Good idea? Yes? No? I hope I'm making sense. Communicating my ideas is hard sometimes.

Peace friends.

We added a re-rip tool a couple of years ago.

Where is this feature? I'll gladly use what's there. So many features I miss some of them.  D'oh!

Thanks, Jim!

It's automatic. Try to rip a previously ripped disc, and MC detects that, and provides options....

Well, whaddya know? Marko, you da man! I have been doing all the replacement ripping manually. I was deleting the old files and folders manually then rip the CD the JRiver way. I had no idea this was built-in!

Fantastic, Marko! Appreciate your input immensely!
