Weird JRVR behavior with UHD 25fps file
« on: July 20, 2024, 04:19:35 pm »

Hi there,

I'm having an issue with a specific movie which is 25fps (live show in France), JRVR reports 20 repeated frames/s average, motion is kind of laggy, it's not that obvious but it's just a sense that it's not completely fluid. Issue is not there with madvr. Screen refresh rate and vsync are fine.
I've shared a screen recording with OSD, jrvr frame logs and jriver logs from the same file, and mediainfo in below drive link :

BTW other PAL titles play fine, 25fps correctly presented at 50 with no frame repeats or drops reported in OSD.

Could anyone look into it ?
Thanks

From the frame log, it appears to run into an edge case with the frame timing that causes frames to get repeated and throw off the timing. Although I'm not quite certain why the repeated frames throw off the timing, as its just filling the gaps between the frames.
But I'm currently working on revising the timing logic for JRVR and will also look into resolving this case.
