Shuffle not shuffling

Hi
Every time, no matter whether I choose "Reshuffle" or "Shuffle Automatically" or any other shuffle option, every time it groups all the songs of the same artist together back to back!

If I select shuffle, i don't want the same artist back to back. If I wanted that I would just select to play by artist.
What am I doing wrong or is this just how it is?

Are you selecting all the tracks and then doing reshuffle?  What view are you starting from?

Hi Jim. I started it from "Album" view. I also tried just trying the different reshuffle options and also tried selecting all in th "Playing now" list ... but no change.

Maybe you're just shuffling the albums.  There is an Album Shuffle.  Try the wiki.

Select the tracks from a few albums first.

It's from within a single compilation album. It should be able to shuffle songs from within a single album, can't it? I'm trying to shuffle from the "Playing now" section

Open the album, select the files, right click, and choose play shuffled.

Did you read the wiki?

What exactly am i supposed to look for in Wiki? Feel like a mystrery here.
I searched reshuffle and playing now and it just tells me everything I already now and see and tried. When I select reshuffle in playing now, nothing happens, whether i select all files or not. I don't understand why all the songs are grouped together when in playing now, especially when they are not grouped together in the actual compilation album.

I just tested this a little and it worked as expected.  I don't know why it isn't for you.

Are you using MC version 32.0.58?

Okay I discovered the problem! Tracks were "linked", somehow must have done that without knowing  ::)
