I played a song "Dao bih sto Amerika".
After few seconds I STOP the song.
On playlist the NEXT song is highlighted - "Everybody need somebodyR"
Please, help!!!
In Media Center 31 this doesn't happen!!!
In the Player Bar area, immediately to the right of the Progress Bar, hover mouse over the Repeat icon and select "(click to change)".
Is the menu item "Stop after each item" selected? That will exhibit the described behavior in MC32.
Try selecting "Repeat Off". Then "Stop" button should return to start of current track.
Recently there were some very beneficial improvements to this menu in MC 32 - what you describe may be a side effect of the changes. In any case, MC32 current behavior is:
- "Stop" button auto-moves to
start of current track if "Repeat Off" is selected (customary behavior).
- "Stop" button auto-moves to
next track if "Stop after each item" is selected (as described by OP).
These actions appear inconsistent and can lead to confusion.
Feature Suggestion: Add additional Stop States to distinguish the two possibilities for "Stop After Each Item" (there are obviously use cases for both settings):
(1) Return to start of current track and stop
(2) Jump to start of next track and stop
To solve the OP's problem, upper left "Stop" button should:
- Follow suit for State (2), effectively creating a delightful new feature (different from the Next button).
- Otherwise default to the customary action of State (1).
The more general solution: Allow specifying
independent Stop States for the upper left Stop button and the Repeat menu.
If implemented as two selectable items within the Repeat menu, there needs to be a corresponding upgrade from a 4-state to a 5-state icon for skinning the Repeat button. Also, a gentle sticky way of indicating the most recently selected of (1) and (2) in the menu (bold, italics, short underline, asterisk, small dot, ...), which sticks even when another menu item is subsequently selected by check mark.
Alternatively, implement Stop States (1) and (2) as a 2-member toggle group in the Options menu, leaving the Repeat menu unchanged.
Implement the more general solution with either two such 2-member toggle groups in Options, or Repeat menu + Options toggle for the upper left Stop button.
Added twist: Extend the upper left "Stop" button skinning so as to enable reflecting the Stop States (1) and (2) with different upper left "Stop" images (of course maintain backwards compatibility).
Related Issue: There is currently an annoying flash and Progress Bar motion when hitting Play button after Stop button has been hit. This is another Player Bar interface issue to be addressed.
7/21/2024 Edited Feature Suggestion for clarity and added the more general solution.
