Quick questions
« on: February 03, 2003, 02:42:30 pm »

MC is coming along quite nicely.  Keep up the good work!

2 NOOb questions:
1) I would like a view that sorts my tracks by:

Artist/Album

However, I like my albums sorted chronologically, not alphabetically (1st album, 2nd album, EP from 2nd album, etc.).  I do have the dates populated in the files - how can this be done in MC?

2) If I already have album cover art stored in my folders with the music files.  Will MC find them when I install it on my main machine or will I need to manually associate each cover with each album?

1) Tools > Options > Tree and View Settings. Check the Track # for Albums. Then below in the box add in ascending order:

1- Artist
2- Year
3-Album
4-Track#

You could of course change these settings for sorting to suit your needs. Note that this only affects the list, not the tree.

You would have to set up a view scheme based on some sort of smartlist to affect the view of the tree.

Should clarify this statement above: It only affects the view scheme. Not the actual Media Library. There are heirarchal sorting orders that just cannot be changed in the Media Library. It is the way it is.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!!

But A,B,C,D is the Windows order.

If you do not mind you can put a 1 before the album name first in the chronologie and 2 ,3 ,4  after.
This can be very cool if you want to burn your Dylan albums  on a mp3cd. You will get your cd with albums by year not A,B,C
