I though it might have been a Windows update on my desktop, however, when I checked my Mac, the Id had also disappeared as a Dynamic Zone, and when I checked my Windows laptop the ID wasn't there either.

I see the device on my network. I can ping it. I can remote to it. I just can't play music to it.

Help Please! What do I do to fix this?

Make sure Media Network is turned on in settings.  There's a test there.

Use the Access Key to connect again.

I have the DLNA renderer and DLNA controller options set on as well at Use Media Network to share...

What does WMC compatibility do? I checked it.
Also enabled SSL just in case port 52199 was being blocked.

Restarted MC and the MC Id started reappearing on the other devices.

Ugh! what did I do to break MC Id and did anything I just did fix it?

Turn Media Network off and back on.  That generates a new Access Key.

Did you try the test from the server?

That's your Mac Desktop.  Run MC in GUI mode on the Id.  Then Tools > Options > Media Network.

Sorry, I screen captured the remote ID desktop from my Mac. Screen capture would only work once I brought up the Mac tool bar.

Ok it happened again. For reasons I don’t understand the Id has vanished as a Zone from all instances of MC that I run. I followed your recommendation from before and turned off Media Network, rebooted, and turned Media Network back on. The Id reappeared. Please explain why that works and what causes it to disappear?

No idea.  Sorry.

Network related perhaps.

I can't speak to your network but occasionally things get very weird on mine; when it does, I shut down/unplug all the pcs/devices connected to it,unplug any network switches/routers/modem. I leave everything unplugged for a few minutes (so make sure to make coffee before you start so you have something to enjoy while offline). I then start powering up the modem, wait 5 minutes, power up any network switches, wait 2 minutes, power up the NAS(s), wait 3 minutes, then power up the pcs/devices. It's a PITA (pain in the ass) but works almost every time and when it doesn't I have to reach out to my ISP.
