Feature Request: DJ Mode
« on: December 26, 2024, 08:18:26 pm »

It would be nice if JRiver had a "DJ Mode" where it would randomly select one CD in the whole collection, play the whole thing, then randomly select another CD, and so on until stopped.  Preferably with a feature avilable to "skip to next" if desired.  It can be bothersome to always have to open the software and select something to listen to.  It's also bothersome to have to set up extensive playlists for many hours of listening.  I mainly listen to internet radio for that reason, especially while working.  Would anyone else like to see this added?

You mean something different than Play Doctor or maybe a random smartlist?

The DJ feature I dream of, is an auto beat mixing/matching feature.

Let's say I choose 120-125 bpm tracks, turn on "auto beat mixing/matching mode", and voila... JRiver does it best to beat mix these tracks! :)

You could create a smart playlist based on bpm

I am talking about/suggesting an automatic/intelligent beat mixing feature.

For what it's worth, I think this is a good idea.  Start slowly and build up speed, to be defined by beginning, end, and rate of change.

No reason not to have another segment or segments that slow back down or otherwise behave differently.

You can currently define a playlist of playlists that might approximate what you want.
