I have been trying to sort this for MONTHS now and finally decided to ask for help on this forum! So thank you in advance
My setup:
Windows 11 PC with JRiver MC31
One 1080p monitor connected to motherboard
EPSON TW9300 (Faux) 4K projector connected to Denon AVR X4300H then connected to Nvidia 1060 GPU via HDMI
I use this PC for everything and so most of the time I want to use the monitor at 1080p
When I want to watch a movie / show it on the projector I use MC and play 4k MKV files
I have set the displays as duplicated
I set the resolution in NVIDIA CP to 1080p, 1920 @ 60hz
I have "Display setting automatic change mode" set to on
I am using Red October as recommended.
PROBLEM:
When I play the 4K file MC changes the refresh rate but not the resolution.
It says the input is 3840 x 1608 but the output is still only HD (In the example screenshot - 1920 x 942?
There are many dropped frames as well
If I set the resolution in NVIDIA CP to 4k (Native) the file will play at 4k resolution (reported by MC info panel) but then I have issues using my 1080p monitor for day to day usage.
What I expect to happen is for MC to change resolution to match the file for playback when going full screen, and then change back again to the resolution set in NVIDIA control panel.
I have included some screen shots to help.
Can anyone suggest further actions for me to take as I have run out of ideas! How do I set it up to work as expected please!
