No sound unless I cycle DAC's inputs [Solved]
Height of Folly:
Hello everyone,
I'm running JRiver 30.0.96 (64-bit) on a Windows 10 PC. I'm using a McIntosh MCD550 as my DAC via USB. It sounds great but there's a problem with the sound not coming through sometimes. The fix I found is to cycle through the player's inputs and then I can hear my music again. Closing and reopening JRiver has no effect. Other programs work fine. This happens to all my music files, regardless of format or sampling frequency.
I think that if I run JRiver before anything else that outputs sound, it usually plays fine but sometimes I still need to cycle through the inputs again.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? My previous DAC never had these issues. Thank you in advance for the help!

What audio output are you using?

I am using WASAPI. I don't believe ASIO is available for this device.

Try powering the DAC off and back on when it happens.

JRiver stopped playing the file when I shut the DAC off but it wasn't actually stopped, if that makes sense. The time on the file stopped counting up but it wasn't actually paused or stopped, just frozen. I had to click the stop button and click Play again after turning the DAC back on.
