rebuilding library extremely slow
« on: March 01, 2025, 01:52:55 am »

My music sits on a Synology DS1019+. I have cleared my 165k tracks library and I am rebuilding it. Windows tast manager shows close to 1Gbps traffic from the NAS during this process. Tracks are being added at a rate of around 1 per second. It looks like JRiver is downloading the complete files from the NAS (to analyse them?).
Is this normal?

Yes.  You can turn analysis off.

You could restore a backup from MC if you still have one.  They are made automatically.  Search for *.zip.

You can also temporarily disable your Antivirus, it may speed it up a bit.

Thanks, Jim
analysis is turned off, yet sthe library scan  is still excruciatingly slow. After 6 hours, JRiver has scanned 25'000 files.
