Thumbnails dimension (Resolved)
« on: May 01, 2025, 03:33:47 am »

Hello everyone and happy May Day!!!

I changed the TV with which I control JRiver, and now it has the definition 3840x2160  :)
The thumbnails of my album covers have become too small  :(
Is there a way to enlarge them???
The only way I found is to change the definition of the video card (1920x1080), but I don't want to do that...

Many thanks and Best Regards!!!

You don't mention your operating system.
For Windows you can batch resize with PowerToy Image Resizer.
For Linux something like ImageMagick Mogrify

Keep in mind that upsizing small dimension files will result in poor upsized rendition quality no matter which tool you use. Hope this helps.

Worth noting that if you use MC34 it now allows the building of higher quality thumbnails for display in MC and clients (and remotes), assuming the thumbnails you have are already of high enough quality.

However, if you want higher quality cover art you're going to have to find and apply it. Simply upscaling images, at least in my own experience, has never really been that good, unless using some sort of elaborate AI upscaling sort of deal.

In standard view there's a "slider" to change the size of thumbnails, top right corner of the window area (see screenshot). And you can go to View > Size > choose 50% - 400%.

In theater view, go to tools > options > theater view > appearance > size.

You can also change the display Scale to 150/200/250% in Windows settings > System > Display, which enlarges pretty much everything in Windows. This is nice for a 4K TV.
If you just want to enlarge MC, then follow tzr916 instructions.

Many thanks "zybex", I enlarged windows to 250%, because all the icons were too tiny.
The function I needed is the one "tzr916" told me
 :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Now I can see the covers comfortably from the sofa  ;D ;D ;D

THAAANKS!!!!!!!
Best regards
