Downloading files to MP3 player
« on: January 02, 2003, 02:40:18 pm »

???Everytime I try to move song over to the MP3 player, I get a sign that says "Initialization failure. Check that drivers are installed correctly and player is on."
I downloaded drivers from Media Jukebox website and player is on.

Marmatoes,

I can give you some help, but first I need some information so I can give you some advice.

What mp3 player?

What version of MJ?

What version of the Plug-in for your player?

What Operating System?

Plug-in 1.0.0.1 and 1.0.12.0 (I downloaded both from the MJ website)

Marmatoes,

Sorry for the delay in responding, I was away.

Can you try downloading the drivers for the Nike from

http://www.rioport.com/SoftwareResources/1,4055,,00.html#drivers

I just tested connecting to the Nike with these and it worked well.

This same 'initialization failure happens on a 20gb ipod (brand new).  Connected and shows up as drive G.  Clicking on handheld player in the action window brings up the init. failure message.  OK on that dialog box and it then brings up the "Drop files here" panel.

What plugins should or shouldn't be here?  It's got the WMDM 11.0.08 and the portable drives 11.0.24 plugins (but nothing shows for anything ipod...)  This is MC11.234.

What gives?  How do I eliminate the error message?

wkearney,
Wrong board.  Try the Portable Devices board here.   Please read a little before posting.

No plug-in is required for the iPod.
